What You Can Do

The coffee comes out of my CUBE 4' in drips - what should I do?

This can have various causes:

  1. Maybe your system is calcified. Run a high-dose descaling.
  2. The grind is too fine – adjust the grind coarser.
  3. The instant coffee is too fine. Use coarser coffee powder.
  4. You have added too much coffee powder. You guessed it: use less coffee powder. You can adjust this while grinding.
  5. The Click Cup sieve is clogged. Clean the Click Cup and the system thoroughly.
  6. The tamper piston is calcified. Descale your CUBE 4’.

The coffee has no cream and no foam. What is the reason for this?

The brewing unit of your CUBE 4' may be clogged. Clean the Click Cup and perform a complete system clean. If the problem persists, it is probably due to the coffee used. Always use freshly ground coffee beans – ideally directly from a NIVONA specialist dealer or from your local roastery

I've got a loud grinding noise. What is it?

Usually, the coffee bean and ground coffee do not match exactly. Optimise the grind. There may also be a foreign body in the grinder. You can continue to use your CUBE 4' to make pre-ground powdered coffee. Be sure to call our service and do not grind coffee beans with your CUBE 4’.

The coffee from my CUBE 4' is cold, especially the espresso and ristretto. What's going on?

This is probably because you need to preheat your cup. (Just like a barista does in a café.) You can also set the temperature to maximum on your CUBE 4'. If you want to preheat your cups, you can simply warm them up briefly with hot water from the tap. Straight espresso and ristretto cool down very quickly if the cups are not preheated.
You can also pre-heat your Click Cup - all you need to do is run an empty lid through it once. Of course, you can still place the cup under the heating element so that the hot water goes straight into the cup, killing two birds with one stone.

The amount of ground coffee is not correct - I have too much or too little ground coffee in my Click Cup. What should I do?

The grinding time is probably too short or too long. Please call our customer service. Our staff will be able to help you right away.

My Click Cup is stuck. The lever may have been moved too early during the brewing process. In this case, make sure that the lever is unlocked completely by hand only when the status LEDs on the CUBE are lit. What do I do if the Click Cup is still stuck?

Open the lever fully and manually and release it. If you cannot move the lever up, see the following points.

Lock the CUBE lever down and then disconnect the CUBE from the power supply and then reconnect it. After reconnecting, you will hear a click can be heard, after which the lever can be opened upwards.

Start brewing another coffee (see operating instructions) and wait until the status LEDs light up constantly. The lever can then be opened fully and manually.
